About Alexandria, MN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Alexandria is the county seat of Douglas County, Minnesota. As of 2010, its population had exceeded 11,000 residents, and the community has been named as one of the “Top 10 Best Small Towns.” This community is located near Interstate 94, and it was originally incorporated in February 1877. Top employers in the city include Douglas County Hospital, Douglas Machine, and Alexandria Industries, and most children in Alexandria will attend Alexandria Area High School before they move into the workforce.

Alexandria is known for being a top tourism center due to its numerous resorts and lakes, so the community is a popular destination for summer travelers. Lake Miltona has many famous lodges around it, and Lake Le Homme Dieu is a great place to spend a day out on the water. The Central Lakes Trail is also a great option for a bike ride or hike.

Alexandria is also home to other interesting attractions. There are several popular golf courses, including Atikwa Golf Course, Hardwood Hills Golf Course, Geneva Golf Club, and Nordic Trails Golf Course. Carlos Creek Winery is also located in this community, and popular Alexandria events include Apple Fest, the Douglas County Fair, and the Grape Stomp, which is hosted each September by the Carlos Creek Winery. The Runestone Museum and the Minnesota Lakes Maritime Museum are also great places to learn more about the history of the area.

Alexandria is part of a continental climate zone, which is typical for areas in the Upper Midwest. The winter months are cold and snowy, and when heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures set into the area, dangerous conditions may follow. For this reason, it is essential that Alexandria residents have access to an efficient home heating system. In the summers, warm temperatures with high humidity will make their way into the area, and in these months, residents will want to trade in their heat pump or furnace for an air conditioner.
